Abstract

At a global level, mobility trends have taken a direction towards policies that give preference to non-motorised mobility, many of which are linked to different processes of pedestrianisation. In the city of Cuenca, the perception of the people directly affected by this type of intervention (residents, shopkeepers and pedestrians) has become an inconvenience both in the process of implementation and in the planning of future related projects; the experience lived by the people of Cuenca in recent years has led to a negative perception of these interventions by a large number of them. In this article, we will systematize the public perception of pedestrianization projects, as well as establish a conceptual, legal and theoretical basis that will allow the design of strategies for the effective implementation of pedestrianization projects.
